The Trashy Owl

I LOVE steampunk owls.  Like a lot.  So much so that I have dedicated my bathroom décor to them.

The picture you see above is the one that started it all.  After creating my Aviator Owl, I couldn't get enough of the steampunk flyers.  Which led me to create my newest edition to the bathroom collection: The Trashy Owl.  Which, ironically enough, is a owl... on a trash can.  :)

Love is in the Air

It is the time of year when everyone's projects start to include little hearts, lots of frills, and splashes of pink, red, and purple.  However, I wanted to take a little bit of a different approach to the age-old Valentine's Day crafting traditions.

Staircase Display

By popular request, I am posting the close ups of the six hand painted art pieces installed into the staircase.

The theme was to feature barn scenes in different seasons.  The end result is what you see below.  :)

Repurposed Chairs

First impressions, as we know, are incredibly important.  Which is why my roommate/best friend is incredibly fixated on our lawn.  It has to be cut and trimmed every week or she's fretting about it.  Whereas I, the free spirited member of the household, am less bothered if the grass has a slightly wild look.  In fact, I'm very happy in a field of grass being blown by the wind.  It's a beautiful and poetic backdrop- something that unites both the writer and artist in me, two parts of my personality which are often in conflict.

Let's Get Started!

Possibility… that big, all-encompassing, wide-open-door concept that fuels the mind of a dreamer.  A word brimming full of glass-half-full perspective.  A concept that alters the way a person looks at the world.

Life is full of possibility, and art is an extremely tangible example of that.  If you have an open mind and a keen eye, you can transform anything into a work of art.  Which is what Beyond Boundaries is all about.  Transformation and possibilities.

Testing, Testing

Testing one, two, three!

Wow, who knew I would be launching my own brand and website after a year of my art teacher, Sharon Estes of Granny's Korner Studio, trying to convince me to take the plunge?  But everything happens for a reason, and it just wasn't the right time a year ago.
